A great program for those at risk for a heart related illness, suffering from one, or trying to prevent one.
At Bermuda Heart Foundation’s CORE center, at-risk individuals can take various lifestyle classes, join the perfect support group for their needs, and enjoy custom exercise trainings with the help of a cardiac fitness trainer.
Our 12 week primary prevention program helps those with risk factors, like obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Our team of professionals will create individualized lifestyle modification programs for them to follow. Clients will have access to a dietitian, health psychologist, and a personal trainer.
Our qualified trainers are dedicated to getting your heart health back on track by coming up with a personalized plan that suits your needs. We greatly benefit by having a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist on our team who knows the correct ways to safely create an exercise plan for those in recovery.
Our specialized classes teach Bermudians how to understand health, prepare healthy meals, manage stress, and make educated decisions. We are focused on promoting healthy lifestyle modification habits that last a lifetime, as opposed to diets and fitness trends.
Meet Bethany Thurlow, aka Bee! Bee is super excited to be working as CORE's full time cardiac fitness trainer, and takes great pleasure in creating positive impacts on peoples' lives through our program. She brings her own personal touch to CORE, with advances in fitness testing, training methods, tailored exercise prescriptions and personal training sessions. She also has a regular series on our Facebook page called Bee's Corner, where she offers heart-healthy advice about a variety of exercise techniques.

CORE volunteer and amputee, Ryan Gibbons discusses the importance of preventative care as it relates to heart health in Bermuda.
CORE (Cardiac. Outreach. Renewal. Education) aids at-risk individuals, and those recovering from a heart event or attack, by equipping them with skills to improve their health. Founded in 2010, we are the world’s first insurance covered primary prevention program for people with one or more risk factors for heart disease.
